MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 25 mm, 12.49 g, 12 h), circa 76. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; between the snake heads, ΑΠ above monogram of ΠPY and star; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡΓ; to right, serpent-entwined thyrsos. Kleiner 25. Pinder 122. SNG Paris 1726-7. Nicely toned, sharp and attractive. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
